While securities and financial Litigation, such as cases involving hedge funds, securitizations and derivatives, have been and remain a substantial focus of the firm, Zimmett and his associates have represented clients in other areas as well. The firm counseled a manufacturer in a series of product liability and insurance claims, won an injunction on behalf of a well-known luxury goods company against a competitor's use of its proprietary trade information and defended a best-selling author and television producer in an action alleging invasion of privacy. The firm has also handled a number of employment disputes in litigation, arbitration and negotiations. Zimmett has represented securities firms and other corporate employers in some cases and in others their senior executives, such as a board member for an investment bank and the former chairman of retailer Bonwit Teller.
